Shax, also spelled Chax, Shan, Shas, Shaz, and Scox) is according to the Ars Goetia a Grand Marquis of Hell and has authority over 30 legions of demons. He takes away the sight, hearing, and understanding of any person at the request of the magician who summoned him and steals money from the houses of the rich, bringing it back to the person who asks for it in the form of unexpected earnings.  The demon Shax can also discover hidden things if they are not guarded by evil spirits and sometimes send good animals for the mage to work with.
